Silent Sidewall Technology

Silent Sidewall Technology is a system focused on a specific region of the tire sidewall and allows to break vibrations and sounds emitted by the tread in connection with the ground. This technology therefore minimizes noise, for a much more pleasant drive.

TWIN TRAC SILICA

Nokian Twin Trac Silica is a rubber compound made up of natural rubber, of course, but also silica and rapeseed oil. The original distribution of particles ensures optimal tire grip on snow and in the rain. This innovative, cutting-edge mix also perfects driving stability and the tire's response to wear. The quality and volume of materials used maintain the tire's superb winter grip performance, even with intense temperature changes or after many miles. Vehicle consumption is significantly reduced due to the drastic reduction in rolling resistance.

ABUNDANT SNOW COMPRESSOR

The irregular bevels on the shoulder block walls bind to the ground surface allowing improved grip in curves as well as in deep snow.

RIGID MANEUVERABILITY BLOCKS

The Stiff Handling Blocks rubber blocks feature imposing treads optimizing traction, and tapering increasingly towards the shoulder. This increases grip on snowy roads and driving precision. A powerful tread activator is placed in the middle of the shoulder blocks. It allows to maximize the action of these blocks during acceleration and deceleration phases, that is, when it is essential to be able to rely on flawless grip.

SLUSH BLOWER

The inclination of the rear edge of the rubber blocks is designed for maximum drainage of water and mud out of the grooves.

DRIVING ACCURACY

A significant and sturdy central groove adorns the median region of the tire. Its sipes do not cover the entire width, resulting in an increase in precision and enhancing the control of handling.

PERFORMANCE SNOW TIRES

On each side of the central rib, the rubber blocks display a high density of sculptures, with every other lamella alternating left and then right. Grouped in threes, the blocks are equipped with reinforcements at the bottom of the grooves. These "HANDLING SUPPORTS" provide enhanced maneuverability.

DSI AND WSI INDICATORS

Driving in winter conditions requires high-quality tires to ensure complete safety. The Driving Safety Indicator is a wear indicator located on the tread. A product of Nokian Tyres research, it enhances safety during the cold season. The Winter Safety Indicator, or WSI, whose symbol is a snowflake, is a winter safety indicator. The numbers adorning the middle part of the tire indicate the depth of the main groove, which is expressed in millimeters. The progressive wear of the tire gradually makes the numbers disappear. The WSI does not disappear until the tread depth reaches 4mm, but when the snowflake is no longer visible, it is imperative to buy new snow tires to ensure safety on the road.

The amazing grip and handling properties of the tire are made possible because each of the blocks as well as each of the sipes of the patterns have a specific shape and a well-defined function.

I mount 2 new ones every year on my car, it may be the best snow tire for city driving on the market. On snowy roads, it has amazing grip, nothing to say on wet ground, however, it wears out quickly on dry ground, but it's normal, it's really designed for snowy or cold black roads.

Good quiet tires. 3rd set. Drives about 20000 km per year. Lasts about 4 years. Usually in good balance, though one of them this time had a lot of lead even after several mountings and balancing.
