What's the best tyre brand for my car?

Your answers to the aforementioned questions will lead you to the best tyre brand for you.

This brand is the tyre brand adapted to your use and expectations.

To justify our explanation, remember that all tyres sold on TyreLeader:

  • Are approved for driving in Europe.
  • Have been tested by our customers.

Do I have to buy 1 tyre, 2 tyres or 4 tyres?

We strongly recommend that you change your 4 tyres.

This is particularly applicable for cars with four-wheel drive (4WD) or vehicles with winter tyres. This saves you axle problems or poor traction.

If your budget does not allow it (or you simply don't want to change all 4 tyres), you can just change 2.

We do always advise you to put the new tyres at the rear in order to stay safe, maintain good traction and limit the wear of your new tyres.

So you'll need to refit your rear tyres to the front.

If you get a flat, you can just change one tyre as long as you keep on the same axle:

  • A difference in tread depth of less than 5mm between the 2 tyres.
  • The same brand and profile on the axle.
  • The same category of tyres (season).

Do you sell winter tyres?

You'll find an extremely wide winter range on our website, for all tyre segments and brands.

No more winters stuck in your car or out of control slips on the road.

As soon as the temperature drops below 7°C, the winter tyre is the best choice due to its siping and rubber compound.

They're designed to ensure your mobility and safety whether it's snowing, cold or the roads are wet.

Do you sell summer tyres?

We have a wide range of summer tyres from more than 200 brands for all vehicles.

You'll be surprised by the sound quality, fuel consumption and driving stability of summer tyres, suitable for temperatures above 7°c.

On each summer tyre product page, you'll find opinions and feedback from our customers who drive with our products every day.

Do you sell all-season tyres?

You will find a wide choice of all-season tyres on our website.

All-season tyres have improved significantly in recent years.

All premium and quality tyre brands now have very wide and high-performance ranges.

A real compromise between summer and winter products, the all-season tyre has found its place on the European tyre market.

Long criticised as a redundant tyre, manufacturers now produce:

  • Sufficiently siped tyres.
  • Silica-based rubber compounds make it possible to find the right balance between wear and traction.
  • They have the necessary markings to travel in winter on all roads (M+S & 3PMSF).
  • They perform much better in summer than winter tyres do.

In short, if you don't live in the mountains but go there once or twice a year to ski, and the winter at home is below 7°c, the all-season tyre can save you from changing your set of tyres twice a year (summer and winter).

Do you sell motorbike tyres?

Whether you are looking for motorcycle tyres for your enduro, road, sports, motocross, chopper, cruiser, competition, scooter, tourism, quad summer or winter, our site is made for you!

Are you a seasoned biker with a preference for a specific brand of motorbike tyres, or are you just starting out with your first set of 2 wheels? Either way, TyreLeader.ie has referenced the widest choice of tyres for your bike.

Thanks to our customer reviews, exchange with other motorcyclists and discuss what you think is the best tyre for your 2 wheels.

How do I differentiate between different tyre brands?

Each tyre manufacturer, begins their project within the product marketing team to design a new tyre profile.

The product marketing team will define the market, usage and customer preferences, and will group everything together in a set of specifications.

These specifications are sent to the product development team, which will be the interface between the technical, marketing and R&D (research and development) teams.

So, any brand can theoretically make a tyre as it sees fit. The brand's DNA then comes into play.

This DNA is the genetic map that each brand will require from its team members for each of its profiles and tyre models.

Let's now try to summarise the DNA of each tyre brand, so you can distinguish between them more easily:

  • Michelin: focuses its products on durability (longevity), the environment, and a mix of high performance factors (braking, traction, etc.).
  • Continental: focuses its products on technology and braking.
  • Bridgestone: focuses its products on excellence and technology.
  • Goodyear: focuses its products on innovation and technology.
  • Dunlop: focuses its products on sports performance and trust.
  • Pirelli: focuses its products on high performance and perfection.
  • Hankook: focuses its products on emotion and performance.

So, it's your choice... all these tyres are great... but which ones do you prefer?
