Description
The Roadtec 01 SE sport touring tire by Metzeler, inspired by the Roadtec 01, delivers better performance than its predecessor on wet surfaces, thanks to the new design of its cross grooves, shaped like a saber, and others shaped like a drop, which allow for grip on low-adhesion surfaces. The mileage is higher, and the sport features are more pronounced, especially in terms of agility. The smoother shoulders (higher full / void ratio) optimize cornering and road handling. The balance is enhanced by a fine and homogeneous silica rubber compound.

- Road - Regular - 600 km
Very pleasant to drive. Even on wet roads, you feel safe. Handling is really top-notch. Rear tire has so far covered about 4000 km and will certainly last even longer.
- Road - Sporty - 5000 km
So far I have not had a single rear wheel slip, but it tends to understeer at the front when it's a bit cold. However, after a few turns, this improves. The mileage is catastrophic at 5500 km. In the center, there is barely 2mm of tread left, on the sides it resembles a slick.

My second set of Roadtec 01. I drove 12,500 km on the first set and might have squeezed a few thousand more out of them. The front wears quickly and becomes noisy, the rear tire held its shape well over the 12k km. Grips well in all weather and temperatures. Quick drive over alpine passes in 1-degree warmth without losing traction. Good tire!

Really lasted 9000 km! Despite Italian and French asphalt (partly very grippy!)

In the hairpin bends, my rear wheel slipped several times, probably because of the road surface. Otherwise, a very good tire.
