Michelin has been the preferred partner of Harley-Davidson since 2008 and the tires fitted on the Milwaukee manufacturer's motorcycles bear the logo of both brands on their sides! Thanks to this partnership, Michelin has gained experience in the specific uses of this type of motorcycles, for which the essential criteria are longevity, gradual behavior, and wet road handling. With this new Commander III, which varies depending on whether it is intended for Cruiser or Touring vehicles, this is the very first time that Michelin has segmented its offer.
The new Michelin Commanders benefit in both cases from a 100% silica compound that enhances road holding, particularly on wet surfaces. Its durability is greater than the Commander II. Most of the sizes benefit from the "velvet" look, thus adding the "superior quality" aspect that matches the style of the equipped machine. Not to mention that the Commander III is equipped with additional notches (3% more notch surface area than the Commander II). The new Michelin Commander III are available in a wide range of sizes from 16 to 21 inches for the front tire, and 15 to 17 inches for the rear.
