Keeping your alloys clean

Just in case you didn't know, alloy wheels get grimy very easily . This is because the combined effect of brake dust, sand and grit salt lead to damage for the wheel.

If you want your wheels to keep their shine, make sure you clean them 2 or 4 times a month depending on the way you use your car . Failure to do so will result in permanent damage to the wheel due to the corrosion of metal

  • Never wash your wheel when still hot !
  • Avoid automatic washing stations that often use acid detergent. Ask the assistant first.
  • Never use iron wool or cleaning products for metals as it would results in scrapes.
  • Do not use polish for matte colour wheels.
  • Do not use chrome polish or any similar products
  • Clean your wheel between 2 and 4 times a month.
  • Avoid water sprays with pressure above 15 psi

To bring back the brightness of your wheels, please follow the advice

  1. Always start with rinsing your wheels with clear water
  2. Use a cleaning product specially designed for wheels
  3. Apply and wait for a few minutes, but make sure it doesn't dry off
  4. Remove dust with sponge or brush.
  5. Rinse with clear or demineralized water.
  6. Dry with clean rag or chamois leather.
  7. Once clean and dry, you can apply colourless wax polish

If you notice a nibble on your wheels after you scraped a curb or the impact of road grit, you can touch it up with a paint pen
