Description

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is an ultra-high performance summer tire that is equally effective on dry and wet surfaces. It features an innovative resin rubber compound that greatly enhances the contact surface with the road; it literally sticks to the road, regardless of driving style or terrain or weather conditions (Contact Patch Technology / Dry Stability Plus) without any impact on rolling resistance. The Wet Braking Pro technology, which in addition to the flexible resin contains flexible lamellas, allows for more micro-contacts with the road to improve braking and handling on wet surfaces. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 has been designed to fit most new electric vehicles, and is expected to be standard equipment on new vehicles from 2023. A comfortable, next-generation tire that reassures and appeals.

Fun tyres. I've been driving with GoodYear asymmetric for a long time. Since asymmetric 3. All of them are fun to drive on both dry and wet roads. Stable on the motorway and not noisy. I definitely recommend them.

The lifespan may seem short, but the performance is there. I am satisfied with these tyres, especially on wet roads. My rear tyres could have lasted 5 to 10 thousand more, but I had a geometry issue... I recommend.

I've only had it for a short time on the previous Stelvio model, I had it on the Alfa 166 for a long time. I can say that it's a great tire, whether for sporty or normal driving, it holds extremely well at the limit, especially in corners, which is my specialty, as well as in the rain. It doesn't slip, it's rigid in the rain. I often wonder when braking how they managed to give it such good grip. That's just Goodyear know-how.

The tire change was radical, the driving sensation has evolved positively. Grip, consumption, etc... With eyes closed, I would buy them again.

Tyres used on Peugeot 508 2.0hdi. Fantastic grip in all conditions especially great on corners and roundabouts -very stiff sidewalls stabilise car very well. Only things that aren't great is it is a bit noisy and sidewall looks very boring. Otherwise all very good. Not sure about tyre life yet as I've only done 1000km on these.

PS4S worn 2/3, replaced by 4 new F1s. 7 mm tread depth, a slightly wider tread than the PS4, a more prominent rim protection of the same shape. Noticeable difference in braking on dry surfaces, as well as in strong acceleration below 110 km/h, the wider tread is clearly felt. Rolling resistance doesn't seem affected, at the same pressure as the PS4, perhaps due to a slightly stiffer sidewall, yet still flexible. In sharp turns at legal speeds, with warm rubber, dry grip is also firmer, with less drift and it's harder to induce a bit of oversteer with the accelerator. Maybe due to the thickness of the new rubber, it seems like the warm-up time is a bit longer, the "glue" effect doesn't happen as quickly when entering a turn after a long straight as with the PS4, but on a twisty track, the temperature hold is good. Not tested enough on wet surfaces, anyway it would be arbitrary with PS4s having only 3 mm tread depth left, but we know that a wider tread = higher risk of aquaplaning. On greasy-wet surfaces, studded passages and a few km, it seems to hold up normally. For longevity, we'll have to see, but wear doesn't seem faster, the rubber seems quite resistant, the extra warm-up time might suggest slightly better longevity for highway use and gentle driving, not tested in hotter driving conditions (dry mountain roads, for example). Noise is also better, but it would need to be compared with new PS4S. The feeling is of a slightly stiffer tyre, sitting on the road and maybe a bit heavier, but again it would need to be compared with a new set of PS4S on the same day because 4 mm more rubber on the tread, on 19 inches, inevitably causes a bit more gyroscopic force. Overall, considering the wear of the previous tyres, it feels like a squarer tyre capable of holding the ground on dry surfaces. In gentle driving, the worn PS4 was noisier and a bit softer on rough surfaces, but again the new rubber thickness can influence the feel.

Tire not yet mounted, but having bought all the other asymmetrical ones (1, 2, 4, 5 and today 6), I think I won't be disappointed as always.
