I’d already bought these tyres for my A4 3.0 TDI quattro (having had the Evo ones on a Model Y, which I found too harsh), so I tried the Prime ones and, honestly, I’m very satisfied. Extremely quiet, they grip the road really well, although they’re a bit noisy and jarring over big potholes. So I bought another set of four for my other A4. No issues with them on my A4 1.9 TDI; they wear a little, but they hold up well. Unfortunately, one of the tyres on my 3.0 TDI A4 blew out at 140 km/h on the motorway after 2 years and 20,000 km… strange. The tyre was in great condition, no abnormal wear, nowhere near the wear indicator, pressure OK. I think I must have driven over something, or there was a defect, but I don’t really believe that because it would have blown earlier. (The tyre was really split.) Anyway, they’re good tyres at a good price. But since that happened, I’m a bit wary. I went for Pilot Sport 5s for the 3.0 quattro, which are much noisier but even more comfortable and higher-performing. But a lot more expensive. So yes, I recommend them because, honestly, they’re very good. The Evo version is firmer, but it lasts more miles.
