Quiet tyres; I haven’t noticed any increase in fuel consumption when switching from my 17" Barum summer tyres to these 16" Klebers. However, since they were fitted on the front I feel the steering is no longer properly aligned. Yet, after having new suspension arms fitted in July and the subsequent wheel alignment, I can’t understand how these new tyres could be causing this. Was there poor balancing at the fitting centre where I had the Klebers installed? Or could it be because the old winter tyres are still on the rear? I don’t know. After 1,000 km, the quietness – even on the motorway – outweighs these drawbacks. We’ll see in the long term and whether it happens again next season.

I’m very satisfied with the Kleber Krisalp HP3 tyres: they perform exceptionally well in rain and snow and also cope with the hot conditions of southern France, as long as you keep them at the upper end of the manufacturer’s recommended pressure range. I’ve been using the same tyres for seven years, and their grip/price/mileage ratio is far better than that of budget tyres.
