The Nokian Tyres Snowproof 2 features a patented Driving Safety Indicator, known as DSI, designed to provide information on the tyre’s wear condition and the right time for replacement. This indicator shows the remaining tread depth in millimetres, with numbers that gradually disappear as the tyre wears.
To maintain a level of safety suited to winter driving, a groove depth between 4 and 5 millimetres is recommended. The snowflake symbol remains visible until the tread reaches 4 millimetres. Its disappearance indicates that replacing winter tyres becomes necessary in order to maintain optimal safety performance.

This approach is based on the interaction between a specific tread pattern design, suitable sipes and a dedicated rubber compound, in order to ensure safe and comfortable driving. The tread pattern promotes efficient evacuation of snow, whether fresh or melted, between the tyre and the road surface. The 3D sipes help to enhance grip under braking and in corners.
The Alpine Grip 2.0 compound is designed to cope with demanding winter conditions, including on muddy ground, while maintaining good performance when temperatures are milder. Its formulation allows it to remain flexible and grippy across a wide temperature range, ensuring reliable handling during temperature variations.
Its high silica content improves grip on wet roads. Optimising rolling resistance also contributes to better energy efficiency, helping to reduce consumption and associated emissions.
To ensure a high level of safety and optimum comfort, the tread is based on a design with two functional zones. The Dual Zone Safety concept combines a Grip Zone dedicated to grip in winter conditions and a Handling Zone focused on steering precision, stability and control.

Very, very good tyres, tested on a Kangoo 3, Kangoo 1, Duster 4x4 and Peugeot Partner; they drive without any issues in 30 cm of snow, including on slopes and through bends (I haven’t tried starting again on a 15% hill ;-)). For two years I’ve trusted them while living in a mountainous area of the Alps, and I still haven’t had to get the snow chains out. That said, you do need to know how to drive on winter roads!!!

Very good brand, received at the right time. It snowed 20 cm in my area; I got through everywhere without any problem, on slushy or icy snow.
Excellent purchase. Order delivered after 4 days. DOT dating back to 4 months ago. The tyre is really excellent: very good wet road grip, sticks to the tarmac in corners; fuel consumption is OK; excellent value for money. The only downside is that it’s a bit noisy, but it’s a winter tyre and that’s more or less the case for all of them. We’ll see the tyre’s lifespan in the future.
Excellent tyres! On my previous cars (Renault Megane I and Megane III), I also had Nokian winter and summer tyres. I have many, many years of experience (since 1998), and it’s no coincidence that I’ve developed loyalty to this brand!!! Over the years, the quality has continuously improved and, in my opinion, Nokian tyres can now be classed as premium! I can confidently recommend them to everyone; you won’t be disappointed with Nokian tyres!
