Very surprised. I’ve been used to Goodyear, Michelin or Continental all-season tyres for several years. On dry roads, I was expecting more discomfort given how stiff it is and the appalling state of country roads, but that’s not the case at all—it’s actually even more comfortable. I deliberately drove through aquaplaning conditions to test it: impeccable, very good grip. Also on slushy snow with icy roads, again a very good result. We had a bit of trouble fitting them, which is logical: the tyre is very stiff and its sidewalls are well reinforced. All that remains is to see how many miles it lasts in terms of wear for comparison, but I think that given the price difference, even if it does 5,000 to 10,000 km less, the tyre remains high-performing and costs half the price of an equivalent from a major brand.
