These tyres come into their own once they’re properly up to temperature, on narrow mountain asphalt roads at 25 °C in dry conditions. If you’ve got the nerve, you’ll really be able to keep up with the quick lads on your 500 cc motorbike. The braking performance on the front wheel is especially immense! I ride these tyres on my 500 cc GL500 with 50 hp and leave all the heavy boys behind. I can keep up with the local enduro riders on my old 1981 bike, so if someone with 140 hp wants to catch me in the mountains, they won’t manage it. Disadvantages? Yes, there are some. On certain types of road surface they can make rather strange noises. Wear is a little quicker than with Bridgestone or Michelin. But the price is also much lower. On fresh tarmac they can keep up surprisingly well. I’m a big fan of this brand and have plenty of experience with it. I’ve even got Maxxis tyres on my car now! One big problem: they’re not exactly fond of sunlight! Maxxis had a production year in which, after four years, the tyres generally developed dry cracks, both motorcycle and car tyres. I see this as a major downside to the brand. After four years of full sun it can turn out very badly. However, they’ve got that under control now, and I still think this brand is fantastic.
Unremarkable tyre
Delivered perfectly. My experience with Maxxis is better than Metzeler, which I always used for my K75 before.
Fast service and quick delivery.
Not yet tried on wet roads, otherwise grip is great, I recommend.
excellent
good
From my so far brief experience with these tyres, I can say that they fully meet expectations given the good quality/cost ratio. Good comfort and grip. I have a normal/economical driving style that does not require excessive performance. All things considered, they are an excellent purchase.*****
Not enough mileage to be convinced. So far, so good.
