Metzeler introduces its new tyre designed for V-Twin/custom owners. The ME 888 Marathon Ultra is the designated successor to the Marathon ME 880, a tyre which is already very popular among customisers. It is valued both for its grip on dry and wet roads and for its high tyre mileage. Those who are familiar with the ME 880 will recognise the stability, agility, grip and excellent performance on wet roads.
Enhanced drainage performance and reduced risk of aquaplaning thanks to the longitudinal grooves.
The tire is equipped with a solid tread, ensures excellent stability and even wear.
The grooves of the tread are discontinuous and interspersed with rubber bridges to make the tread more resistant and harder, thus reducing the stresses transferred to the belt and the carcass.

My comments will not be very useful to you, as the tyre will not be fitted until February 2026 (seasonal registration from March to October). The make is new to me, so I have no experience with it yet. The tyre was delivered well packed, with no damage.
Quality tyre. It hasn’t been run in yet because my collector’s custom (1994 Honda VFC 750) doesn’t go out in the rain 🤔
Good tyre. Despite its width, it behaves predictably and grips well.
