Features and Benefits
Overview
The Maxxis Bighorn MT-764 is a mud terrain tyre designed for 4x4, suitable for all seasons. Its specialised tread pattern and reinforced internal structure ensure superior performance on muddy terrains. The tread effectively navigates soft, loose, and uneven surfaces, maintaining forward motion in deep mud and soft dirt. It also self-cleans by expelling mud, snow, and rocks, enhancing traction on off-road surfaces.
The aggressive tread pattern enhances control by maintaining consistent contact with the terrain, improving steering response and stability. The tyre's structure remains intact under load and driving pressure, allowing it to carry heavy loads without deformation. This design ensures safe performance in challenging mud terrain conditions.
The Maxxis Bighorn MT-764 is built for longevity. Its tread design and rubber compound prevent uneven and premature wear, distributing driving pressure evenly and reducing treadwear rate. This extends the tyre's service life significantly.
It is important to note that mud terrain tyres like the Maxxis Bighorn MT-764 are intended for off-road use and are not suitable for regular highway driving.

The value for money is very good and they are not particularly noisy.
Good grip
I bought four tyres for my 4x4. Previously I had Cooper Discoverer AT3 Sport2s (kept for four years), which are also very good but showed their limits in mud (the 4x4 is used in the mountains on steep grassy slopes, often muddy. Track around 35% with hairpin bends). For the Maxxis MT 764: no particular difficulty fitting them (they can be fitted in any direction); balancing was also quick, making sure to place the white dot opposite the valve. On the road: I get a “rumble” at 80 km/h that I didn’t have with the previous tyres. I don’t exceed 100 km/h with the vehicle. It doesn’t bother me, probably due to the tyre’s construction (large, widely spaced tread blocks). I haven’t noticed any particular discomfort on the road, but I’ve only had them a short time. Nor have I noticed anything specific regarding braking on wet roads. On my difficult slopes, however, I did two tests in very poor weather conditions and it’s clearly better than the Coopers (which were worn, it’s true): very good grip and therefore very reassuring on the descent (tyres deflated to 1.4 bar off-road). The tread is deep: 13 mm versus around 10 on the Cooper, with much more widely spaced lugs. The tyre on its own is fairly heavy: 14.5 kg. In short, for use where it’s necessary to ensure your safety on difficult tracks, it’s perfect, even if you have to accept the road rumble. If it’s for more road-focused use with off-road that isn’t too difficult (snow, mud but without steep gradients), the Cooper AT is good.
Highly recommended. The tyres don’t make much noise, off-road performance is 10 out of 10, fuel consumption is acceptable… I used to drive with BF Goodrich mud tyres, but they really couldn’t match these.
Delivery as expected.
Nothing to report, perfect!
After two days, the tyres were at my house, really top quality. I highly recommend them, I had a great experience.
Tyres with good grip on rocks, no noise for tyres with large treads.
Perfect
Top value for money. Very smooth-running for this profile.
