The Nokian Tyres Snowproof 2 is fitted with a Driving Safety Indicator (DSI), making it easy to monitor tyre wear. This indicator shows the remaining tread depth in millimetres, with numbers that gradually disappear as the tyre wears.
To maintain a level of safety suited to winter conditions, a tread depth between 4 and 5 millimetres is recommended. The snowflake pictogram remains visible down to 4 millimetres. When this symbol is no longer visible, replacing the tyres with new winter tyres is recommended to maintain optimum safety.
To offer a high level of comfort and safety, the tread is structured into two distinct zones. The Dual Zone Safety concept combines a Grip Zone dedicated to grip in winter conditions and a Handling Zone designed to ensure vehicle control and stability.
The Hydroflow Grooves grooves actively contribute to safety by limiting the risk of aquaplaning. They promote the rapid evacuation of water and slush between the tyre and the road, ensuring more consistent contact with the road.
The Alpine Grip 2.0 compound is designed to tackle harsh winter conditions and low temperatures, while maintaining effective performance when the weather becomes milder. Its formulation ensures a reliable response to temperature variations, thanks to flexibility and grip maintained across a wide temperature range.
Its high silica content improves grip on wet roads, while optimised rolling resistance contributes to better energy efficiency and a reduction in pollutant emissions.
SilentDrive™ technology is developed to improve acoustic comfort while taking environmental challenges into account. It is based on integrating a layer of acoustic foam applied to the inner wall of the tyre.
This foam absorbs resonances generated in the air cavity, which significantly reduces the noise level perceived inside the vehicle and provides a quieter drive. SilentDrive™ technology is available on certain sizes dedicated to SUV tyres.
The Alpine Sense Grip concept forms the common foundation of Snowproof tyres. It combines strong grip performance with stable and predictable road handling, suited to all situations encountered in winter.
