The Bridgestone Battlax BT 46 and its inverted V-shape at the front is designed to tackle the conditions that ruin tyres, by helping to reduce irregular wear and giving the driver an unmatched driving experience for premium handling. The rear tyre contains a newly adapted silica compound to optimise performance and grip and minimise wear. These tyres have improved wet performance compared to the BT-45, while retaining the proven optimum performance of its predecessor on dry ground as well as its wear resistance qualities. The BT46 is also compatible with the UM app: approved mounting of tyres marked as tubeless on tubular rims when used with an inner tube.

Top tyres at a great price
Good tyre for the money.
Good tyre!
A good tyre at a reasonable price
I have been riding on the BT46, and before that its predecessor the BT45, on my Yamaha XJ600 for almost 15 years now. Altogether, I have ridden over 60,000 km on them. Admittedly, there is not much choice for my bike in these tyre sizes, and the BT46 is one of the cheaper options, but it certainly cannot be described as cheap. The BT45 rear lasted between 5,000 and 7,000 km for me, and the BT46 rear lasts a similar amount of time, but with better feel, better cornering stability, and it still feels good even towards the end of its service life. The BT45 front lasted between 6,000 and 14,000 km for me; the BT46 does not manage that, but it offers a better riding feel throughout its whole lifespan and is generally more pleasant to ride on. The BT45 tended to wobble with small riding errors, but I have never had that effect with the BT46. In the dry, grip is absolutely no problem at any lean angle. As I ride very cautiously in the wet anyway, I have not been able to test its limits, nor do I want to, because when grip goes in the wet, it is gone!! Unfortunately, the wear patterns of the front and rear tyres do not seem to match. With spirited riding, the rear tyre wears down evenly, but the front tyre becomes very pointed (over 2 mm of remaining tread in the centre; virtually no tread left on the shoulders). With a high proportion of motorway riding, the front tyre wears evenly, but the rear becomes flat/squared off. The BT45 already had this problem, and I would have liked to see an improvement with the model update. Nevertheless, a tyre I would recommend.
Everything is fine, everything is fine.
A modern tyre for classic motorcycles
Fast delivery. Good tyre.
Good tyre, but the same ones were already fitted, so I know how it behaves.
With a sporty riding style on the BMW R12, the tyre quickly wears into a cone shape (5,000 km). Nevertheless, it remains my first choice. In the rain, you feel safe (even in heavy rain with hail). On dry roads, you cannot reach the tyre's limits with this bike. With normal riding, the tyre lasts significantly longer. My recommendation for the BMW R12 (also the original equipment tyre).
