The Hankook Smart Flex DL51 tyre model incorporates several innovations for the drive axle. Compared to the previous model, the Hankook SmartFlex DH31, rolling resistance is reduced by up to 25%. The deeper, more closed tread pattern, with its three parallel zigzag grooves, is characteristic and improves traction while reducing rolling resistance. Additionally, the wider tread blocks minimise rolling resistance while increasing rigidity. The tread organically adapts as the tyre wears, revealing new tread patterns in multiple stages to ensure low rolling resistance, exceptional traction, and good wet braking performance throughout the tyre's lifespan.
An important feature of the Hankook SmartFlex range is the advanced compound technology; a dual carbon-silica loading system that improves the homogeneity of the rubber mix, thereby increasing energy efficiency. Another notable feature is the level of heat generated by the tyre, significantly reduced thanks to Hankook's innovative mixing system (IMS) and the rigidity of the tread blocks due to the interconnected 3D sipes. The Stiffness Control Contour Technology (SCCT) ensures uniform tread deformation, counteracting uneven wear through targeted load distribution.
