With velcro that grips you to the road! But in return, fuel consumption increases.. Very effective in case of aquaplaning, need to go at 200 and brake sharply. I haven't had snow to test them in that weather. Longevity rating is not to be taken into account, I just bought them.

I have covered 2000 km so far, I took them because I often live in the snow in the mountains and I needed a good snow tire and that's... excellent on snow, behaves well on wet, loses a bit of quality on dry perhaps due to the really soft compound! I can't complain, they do their job and I have spent really little. Nothing to envy in the upper segment..
