Description

An Asymmetric Tyre

The Michelin XAS enhances the differentiation of the various parts of the tyre by inventing the first asymmetric tyre. Its design incorporates the distinct forces of the multiple zones of the crown, shoulders, and sidewalls, depending on their inner or outer placement relative to the vehicle. Drawing on the analogy with the asymmetry of the human foot, the inner and outer sides of the tyre are subjected to different forces in order to maximise the balance of the car.
A New Reliability

With this innovative perspective, the XAS provides:

excellent stability,
unmatched cornering behaviour,
revolutionary grip in all conditions.

This pioneer with incredible qualities was the first to be mass-produced for speeds up to 210 km/h. The XAS tyre has, of course, been fitted to numerous vehicles competing in a wide variety of competitions on circuits, rallies, hill climbs, as well as Formula France.
